Numark’s D2 Director Now Shipping

Digital media player designed for live DJ performances hits stores this week

Cumberland, RI – March 15, 2007. Numark, the world’s leading brand of professional DJ equipment and the driving force behind the High-Tech musical revolution, announces the immediate availability of the D2 (pronounced “D-squared”) Director, a live performance digital media player with extreme portability and powerful digital media playback for live performances.

The highly awaited shipment of Numark’s D2 Director began with its announcement in December 2006.  The D2 Director is a single, rack-mountable (3U) console featuring a large, easy-to-read LCD display, coupled with a revolutionary new user interface. The D2 Director’s plug-and-play design allows users to quickly and easily search for music on any USB mass storage device and add songs to a single master playlist. Using the master playlist, songs are automatically directed to two built-in play control surfaces. The D2 Director also features support for iPod®, thumb drives, and external USB hard drives.

Numark CEO, Jack O’Donnell says, “With the availability of D2 Director, DJs have all they need by simply bringing the D2 Director and an iPod or portable hard drive to the gig and plugging it all into a mixer. This is an incredibly powerful and versatile way to play digital media, and the lighter equipment load is a bonus for DJs of all kinds.”
