The Numark Orbit is a 2.4 GHz ultra-low-latency wireless performance controller with 16 backlit pads, 4 selectable banks, and 4 virtual knobs per bank. Orbit has a 2-axis accelerometer for instant motion control via 2 shoulder trigger controls. 100% MIDI-customizable: to control music, software, videos, effects, lighting, and more.
The Orbit includes: Orbit Controller, USB Cable, User Manual, Safety & Warranty Manual, Velcro Strap (for wearing), Storage pouch, Orbit DJ software (download), Orbit MIDI editor (download) and a variety of downloadable customized mappings for DJ and recording software.
The Numark Orbit is a generic MIDI controller and as such will work with any DJ or audio recording application that supports MIDI. Customized mappings for Logic, Sonar, Virtual DJ, Traktor, Serato DJ and more will be available on the Orbit homepage after the products release. Check out www.numark.com/ozone for more information.
The Orbit should last around 8 hours on a single charge. This time will vary depending on the use case of the device. Obviously using the Orbit with applications sending multiple LED messages will consume the battery life much faster.
The Numark Orbit does not have any serviceable parts. If you are having any troubles with your Orbit please contact the Numark support team for assistance. We are available to help you 8:30am - 6:30pm EST Monday through Friday (except holidays) at 401-658-3131.
To check Orbit's battery level, hold down Virtual Knob Selector K1. The 4 Pad Bank Selectors will light up to indicate how much battery power is remaining (when all 4 Pad Bank Selectors are lit, Orbit has a full battery). Release Virtual Knob Selector K1 and wait a few seconds for Orbit to return to normal operation.
The Numark Orbit MIDI editor included will allow you see all preset MIDI values as well as change and customize them to your liking. You can also change colors and save presets within the editor software. The Orbit MIDI editor is available on Mac and Windows computers.
The typical signal range is approximately 100 feet (30 meters) with a clear line of sight. If you experience signal interference, move Orbit closer to your computer and/or remove any obstacles between them (walls, furniture, etc.). It is recommended to stay within 75 ft for best results.

The included USB extension cable should be used on computers where the USB ports are very close together.
You can use as many Orbit controllers as you like. It is recommended to change the MIDI channels of your Orbit devices so they aren't on the same channel. To do this just open the Orbit Editor software and select a different channel for all four banks.
Currently only one Orbit controller can connect to a single dongle. To use multiple Orbit controllers you will need to use a USB dongle for each or plug in with the included mini USB cable.
No. The Numark Orbit is class compliant and does not require any drivers. Simply plug your USB dongle or the included mini USB cable into your computer and you're good to go.
