4OnePhonics Visits Numark In Los Angeles
August 31, 2007 – Numark Artists Teeko and 4OnePhonics toured Numark’s Los Angeles offices. The DJs were in town to catch up on the latest in hardware and software, and check out some of the newest gear, including the hot-selling iDJ2. Teeko actively gigs using two TTX turntables. “It was a pleasure to have Teeko and 4OnePhonics visit our Los Angeles Headquarters. These guys are simply amazing. They are true musicians who are extremely innovative in their use of the turntable as a melodic instrument. Teeko takes his performance seriously and 4OnePhonics are really ahead of the curve,” said Gregg Stein, Director of Marketing.
In the winter of 2005, veteran Bay Area turntablists Teeko and Max Kane of 4OneFunk, a world-renowned Bay Area DJ collective, connected with drummer Austin Bohlman and keyboardist Colin Brown of the Monophonics, they formed a 7-piece Bay Area instrumental funk band named 4OnePhonics. Members of 4OnePhonics have shared the stage with artists such as KRS-1, Gang Starr, Busta Rhymes, Galactic Funk, The New Mastersounds, Camp Lo and DJ Q-Bert.
Driven by the success of Teeko's newly released album "My SoundStation" (awarded for Innovative Production by Berklee Music Academy), the group has been playing to packed houses since their first performance in 2006 with appearances from D-Styles, Kenny Brooks, Mike Boo, B.Cause and various members of the Monophonics. With the Monophonics debut album set for summer of 2007 and Teeko's album topping college charts, 4OnePhonics plan to bring their sound worldwide, continuing to represent true innovation and the Bay Area's famous funk aesthetic.
